Lignano Sabbiadoro

Overview

Beaches and relaxation in north-eastern Italy

Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, Lignano Sabbiadoro is one of the main and best-known seaside resorts in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The city is divided into three main areas. The main area of Lignano, which stretches along the eastern tip of the coastal peninsula, is perfect for families. There is no shortage of services, including restaurants, bars and equipped beaches. Lignano Pineta is popular with younger visitors and is known for its nightlife and summer events. The Lignano Riviera shore is characterised by wide beaches and tranquillity.

One of the symbols of Lignano Sabbiadoro is certainly the Red Lighthouse, located on the eastern tip of the city. Once a landmark for sailors and ships, it has been renovated in more recent times, becoming a scenic spot where you can observe the intermingling of the waters of the Marano Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea. And it is precisely at the Red Lighthouse that, on 21 June each year, on the occasion of the summer solstice, the Summer Concert is held to welcome the arrival of the warm weather.

If you are looking for a romantic spot, head to the Belvedere Trabucco, overlooking the waters of the Marano Lagoon, to admire a breath-taking sunset.
