Altura

Overview

Small suburb of Trieste

The Altura district on the outskirts of Trieste is a quiet residential area built in the 1970s, with just over 3,000 inhabitants. Once surrounded by woods, fields and vineyards, today public and private homes coexist there, and, thanks to their elevated position, enjoy a privileged view of Trieste, the gulf and the town of Muggia.

Despite its location outside the centre, the neighbourhood is not negatively affected. On the contrary, there are numerous sports activities that can be practised in the area, thanks to the presence of the Altura Club, with its sports field, swimming pool and skate park.

Since 2009, the Falcone Borsellino Garden, dedicated in 2014 to the two magistrate victims of the Mafia, has been made available to residents. An easily accessible park that has paved routes connecting the parish church, the public schools and the bicycle path, all in the shade of the numerous trees planted within the green area.
