Pigazzano Terrace

Overview

Situated at 465 metres above sea level, Pigazzano is a hamlet of the municipality of Travo located on a vantage point that offers a popular view of the middle Trebbia Valley

The village, which has only a few dozen inhabitants, is enriched by a medieval castle, now privately owned, and the church of Santa Maria Assunta with its large churchyard, open like a veritable panoramic terrace, from where it is possible to admire the surrounding valley: a breathtaking view that sweeps over the territories of the Mountain Union Trebbia and Luretta Valleys.

Rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century, the church, which boasts ancient origins, saw the extension of the churchyard in 1895, which became a beautiful panoramic terrace, listed in the Places of the Heart since 2010.
