Overview
Around the village of Montecopiolo, nature is so strong and fascinating as to leave you breathless: the town is in fact surrounded by peaks that, if towards the hinterland they rise higher and higher, towards the coast they slope down and take on the gentle contours of the hills. Montecopiolo is the ancient seat of a castle, from which the Counts of Montefeltro, who later became the Dukes of Urbino, originated in the 13th century, and is located within the Sasso Simone and Simoncello Natural Park. Renowned is its Hermitage, also known for the presence of the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Faggio, still a pilgrimage destination and a place of great spirituality.
