Canneviè - Porticino Oasis

The Canneviè and Porticino Oasis is a small wetland (67 hectares) located along the road from the S.S. 309 Romea to Lido di Volano. A remnant of a much larger "valley", reclaimed since the 1950s, it is equipped with a visitor centre, a refreshment area, a restaurant and a conference centre. It is one of the best places in the Emilia-Romagna Po Delta Regional Park to try birdwatching: thanks to huts and observation points, placed along an accessible path, all year round you can see numerous species of birds, including ducks and geese (teal, garganey and common shelduck), herons (several species, including the red heron), raptors (swamp hawk), wading birds (snipe, pied avocet and black-winged stilt) and kingfishers.
