Bertinoro

It is called the "balcony of Romagna", Bertinoro: a mediaeval village that stands on the top of a slight rise, dominating the plain below and allowing the gaze to wander among the rows of vines and fields of sunflowers. But Bertinoro is above all the Village of Hospitality, and the symbol of this propensity for hospitality is the Hospitality Column, which stands in Piazza della Libertà: here, in the past, anyone who left their horse attached to a ring was welcomed by the family that owned the ring. Today, the Festa dell'Ospitalità (Hospitality Festival) remains of this tradition: a transformation in which the essence has remained intact.
