Praiano

Overview

A gem of the Amalfi Coast

Praiano is a fishing village considered one of the brightest jewels of the Amalfi Coast. Once the summer residence of the doges, chosen for its spectacular beauty, it is dotted with narrow streets, small stairways and colourful houses.

All around this village of sailors and fishermen you will find votive shrines made of majolica. Bathed by a crystal-clear sea, Marina di Praia is famous not only for its beaches, but also for the tower that rises up to meet the promontory above it.
Near Gavitella beach you can explore the Fountain of the Altar, a small natural pool inside a cave. The sunsets are sure to steal your heart: there are plenty of vantage points where you can be enchanted by views from the bay of Positano to the islets of Li Galli to Punta Campanella, with Capri in the background.

Located between Amalfi and Positano, you can drive to Praiano along the coastal line 163 or take public transport on the Sorrento-Positano Amalfi route.
You can also enjoy a long walk to the village overlooking the beautiful beaches of the coast, which will take about two hours from Amalfi.
