Tenuta Astroni

Overview

The opulence of the Bourbon Age

In the heart of the Campi Flegrei, in Naples, Tenuta Astroni is one of the 22 famous sites that testify to the history of the Bourbons in the capital of Campania in the 18th century. Before it was used as a hunting ground by the Kings of the Two Sicilies, this area was well known to the Ancient Romans for its thermal baths. Today, the Estate has become a renowned restaurant and fine wine cellar, with a 200-seat dining room and a courtyard with a portico, equipped with elegant gazebos, overlooking a pond with a waterfall and a large outdoor pool. Within the grounds, there is an Environmental Education Centre that provides information and updates on ecological issues.

If you wish to visit the interior of Tenuta Astroni, make sure it isn’t closed for an event that day: its enchanting surroundings make it a much sought-after location for celebrating weddings, christenings, communions, anniversaries, graduations, birthday parties and business meetings, all in traditional Campania style.
Even if you can’t go inside, you can still admire the long walls built to keep out hunters and beasts, embellished with two tall towers: Lupara and Nocera.
