Have you always dreamed of visiting Capri? It is the port of Marina Grande that will welcome you to the island. It is the first port of call for all boats coming from Naples, Sorrento and Ischia. In Marina Grande, you'll find not only the main tourist information office but also the funicular railway that takes you in just a few minutes up to the famous piazzetta, a favourite celebrity haunt. You'll soon be entranced by the magical atmosphere of Ischia, an island that is well-loved all over the world.
From Marina Grande, you can take a bus to the centre of Capri as well as to Anacapri, or else take one of the typical cabrio taxis that shuttle between the various locations on the island. This is also the starting point for boat trips to discover Ischia's main natural attractions: the Faraglioni and the Grotta Azzurra ("Blue Cave"). But if you can't wait to dive into the sea and have a swim, you'll find both the public beach (the largest in Capri) and an array of bathing facilities along the sea front just a short distance from the harbour.
Marina Grande is also home to the monumental church, dedicated to the island's patron saint,St Constantius. After sunset, what better than a pleasant stroll through the seaside village with its typical houses and colourful boats.
