Zambrone

Overview

Clean beaches and unique views of Stromboli

Zambrone is one of the pearls of the Costa degli Dei (Coast of the Gods), the long, stunning coastal stretch in the province of Vibo Valentia. On a plateau two kilometres from the sea, this small village of fewer than two thousand inhabitants is ideal for tourists who want to enjoy beautiful views but prefer quiet locations not overrun by tourists during summer.

The beach, right by the centre, is perfect for the whole family, thanks to the fine sand alternating with rocks and dense vegetation. It is made even more magical by the silhouette of the volcano Stromboli and the Aeolian Islands in the distance towards the horizon.

When it comes to churches in the small historic centre, don’t miss the Church of San Carlo Borromeo, with its beautiful frescoes of the Neapolitan School, and the 19th-century Chiesa della Vergine Immacolata.

From Zambrone, it is easy to organise trips of a few hours or for the whole day to explore the other wonders of the Costa degli Dei, from Briatico to Tropea.
