Overview
Camigliatello, in the midst of a landscape of larch and silver fir forests, is mainly a winter destination. Several cross-country skiing trails start from Monte Curcio (at an altitude of 1,768 metres, which can be reached by ski lift from the village). In the old town centre, the Church of Saints Robert and Blaise houses a large mosaic created in 1980 over an area of more than 100 square metres. Another attraction is the Old Calabria Park, inside the Camigliati Tower, a typical baronial residence. The park is inspired by the travel diary written by Norman Douglas in 1915, when he travelled to Calabria in the footsteps of the Grand Tour. While inside the building is the Nave della Sila, a museum dedicated to the phenomenon of emigration that has profoundly marked these places.
