Rivello

Overview

Rivello, in the Lucano Apennine National Park, Val d'Agri, Lagonegrese, is one of the most picturesque villages in Basilicata. It is nestled in the Valle del Noce, in a perfect landscape setting for those who want to treat themselves to breathtaking views, thanks to its wonderful panoramic position.

Spread over three hills, leaning against each other and identifiable by their typical red roofs, the houses give it an unparalleled architectural harmony. As you walk through the alleys and stairways of the old town centre, you can see the imposing sacred heritage of the place, where the 16th-century Monastery of Sant'Antonio stands out, located at the foot of the town, in the so-called "Piano del Lago" area, where there was once a lake residue dating back to the Pleistocene.

A village that is worth visiting as soon as possible also because inside it hides historical treasures waiting to be discovered.
