Cervinia - Valtournenche

Overview

A dream location for skiing enthusiasts at the foot of the Matterhorn

Introducing one of the main reference points in Italy for ski enthusiasts: Breuil-Cervinia, a hamlet of the Aosta Valley municipality of Valtournenche, which lies at the foot of the Matterhorn at 2,000 metres above sea level and boasts one of the most exciting ski areas in the Alps, the Matterhorn Ski Paradise.

The winter season starts as early as the beginning of October and lasts until May, offering visitors young and old the opportunity to spend holidays and short breaks enjoying 322 kilometres of ski and snowboarding slopes, with 51 ski lifts ranging from 1,500 to 3,899 metres in altitude.

Valtournenche remains a paradise to be discovered even during summer, with countless excursions on offer to discover villages like La Magdeleine and natural gems such as the Blue Lake near Cervinia, the Marmitte dei Giganti canyon and the Caves of Busserailles, not forgetting Lake Maen and Lake Lod. Anyone who loves shopping and high-end fashion is sure to be tempted by the streets of the historic centre of Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche, with a few stops along the way to discover the food and wines of the Aosta Valley.

Make sure to stop by Motta de Pleté to take a photo sitting on the world’s highest giant bench, 2,860 metres above sea level.
