Prati di Tivo

Overview

The mountain resort on the slopes of the Gran Sasso massif

Prati di Tivo is one of the most prominent mountain tourism resorts in Abruzzo. It lies at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif, on the slopes of the Corno Piccolo peak, about 40 kilometres from Teramo and at an altitude of 1,450 metres above sea level. It is a true paradise for skiers and hikers.

The site is mainly known as a winter destination: it boasts no less than 20 kilometres of slopes, where you can practice cross-country skiing, mountaineering and snowboarding, or simply enjoy snowshoeing and bobsleighing.

Prati di Tivo is part of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park and offers an extraordinary landscape that branches out among beech and almond tree forests. During the summer season, it is the ideal location for visitors to enjoy walks among nature, to go trekking, to take on more or less challenging rock climbs, or to ride along various mountain bike routes.
