Overview
A small village of shepherds and farmers with ancient origins: the first centre developed around a Lombard settlement. The medieval atmosphere of the distinctive historic centre remains unchanged, while the construction of the Abbey of San Liberatore a Majella dates back to around 856 and is responsible for the name Serramonacesca ("Land of the Monks").
