Overview
The Aia dei Musei is Avezzano's museum centre that houses two permanent exhibitions: the Lapidarium, called "Le parole della pietra" [The words of stone], which exhibits epigraphs found over the centuries through which you can learn about the history of Marsica; and the Museo del Prosciugamento del Fucino [Museum of the Drainage of the Fucino], called "Il filo dell'acqua" [The thread of water], a multimedia museum that illustrates the great hydraulic undertaking of the drainage of the Fucin. An important reference point for discovering the history of the lake through quotations from Greek and Latin historians, images and recordings.
