Marta

Overview

Stretched out on a spur overlooking the water, Marta is a small fishing village on Lake Bolsena and owes its name to the river of the same name. It is dominated by the Clock Tower, the only survivor of a medieval castle that emerges among the ancient houses hidden in the alleys, and above all it has a pleasant and suggestive lakefront shaded by plane trees where the gaze is captured by the colorful boats used for fishing that are pulled dry here. Wine lovers can take advantage of the stop for a glass of a good Cannaiola, a red wine to which a party is dedicated during the summer.
