Overview
Anzio is the city where Nerone was born and there are many testimonies of this glorious past, including the Villa Imperiale and the Neronian port. But it is above all the town where the American troops landed on 22 January 1944. History, yes, but also the sea: Anzio is a port that still retains a great deal of activity and it is here that fishermen gather with their nets, their boats docked, their catch to be unloaded that will reach the local markets but also the great Rome. Here, where Fellini filmed part of Amarcord, the atmosphere is a chorus of voices and calls from the sea, this archaic element that at sunset enchants by reflecting the lights of the village.
